Dirty Dusting
Written by Ed Waugh and Trevor Wood
Directed by Ben Derrick
I have been to many Pateley Bridge Dramatic Society comedy productions, but I can honestly say that Dirty Dusting is by far and away the funniest EVER!
The play was written by Ed Waugh and Trevor Wood and is the first production to be directed by long time Society member, Ben Derrick.
Jo, Linda and Ruth
Ruth Dodsworth, Linda Harvey and Jo Jefferson played characters Elsie, Gladys and Olive, respectively and they were a triumph. The role of Dave was admirably played by George Collinson, and I fully expected the audience to boo him, as he was a true baddie!
George Collinson as Dave
Congratulations to the sound and lighting team – the sound effects came in and were stopped when they were supposed to.
Jo Jefferson as Olive
The backstage team did a fantastic job with the scenery – I wish I had worked in such a modern office when I was at work! All the pictures were aligned correctly, signs were displayed as you would expect nowadays and attention to detail was paramount. At the end of act 1 I wondered where one of the coats was going – all explained at the start of act 2 when only two characters were on the stage.
Ruth Dodsworth as Elsie
When there are so few people in a production the cast are placed under a lot of pressure with remembering lines etc but to these seasoned players, this was no problem. There were lots of cracking one liners – all delivered beautifully. I am remembering some of them now – and tears are rolling down my cheeks!
Linda Harvey as Gladys
The whole team are so professional, and do their utmost to entertain their audiences – Ladies and Gentlemen – you did that fabulously. Thank you very much.
